I'm A Celebrity fans fume as three stars are exempt from the next Bushtucker Trial

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has only been back on screens for two days - but already it’s rubbing viewers up the wrong way.

During Monday night’s episode, hosts Ant and Dec revealed three of this year’s celebrities will be exempt from the next Bushtucker Trial.

Mike Tindall, Boy George and Coronation Street ’s Sue Cleaver have all been ruled out of the next challenge.

Dec told viewers: “As Olivia is not here, she’s not in the vote. And Sue, George and Mike are also exempt from this one.”

“Cor! Are they? Me and you will have to end up doing it if this keeps up,” Ant joked back.

Dec teased: “Well I’ve got a bad back so,” prompting Ant to reply: “Right, it’s just me then guys!”

No further reason was given as to why the ITV trio couldn’t take part.

The Mirror has reached out to ITV and reps for all three celebrities for comment.

And the news didn’t go down well with fans who took to Twitter to voice their frustration that three of the biggest names in this year’s show were able to dodge the public vote.

“Why do they go on this show and then claim to be exempt from ALL of the trials,” one social media user fumed.

“Why are all these people exempt from the trials. What a Joke!” said another.

A third chimed in: “Really annoys me when more than half the campmates are exempt, what’s the point.”

“Why must Boy George be exempt from a challenge right after being incredibly annoying,” a fourth moaned.

In a cheeky reference to former health secretary Matt Hancock entering the jungle as a late arrival, a fifth pointed out: “At least when Matt comes in no-one will have to worry about doing the trials.”

Viewers will have to wait until tonight’s episode to see which celebrity has been voted to complete the challenge.

We also learned yesterday that Love Island star Olivia Attwood had been forced to quit the show after just 24 hours on medical grounds.

Acknowledging her exit on Monday night’s show, Dec said: “Unfortunately Olivia Attwood has left the jungle for medical reasons and sadly won’t be returning.”

Ant added: “Now, she does feature in tonight’s show, which was filmed before she had to leave. We’re very sad to see her go and wish her well.”

Breaking her silence on her short time in the jungle, a spokesperson for the 31-year-old said: “To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement."

They added: "She dreamed of doing 'I'm A Celeb' for years and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).

"However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has.

"You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on your screens in the New Year.

"Ps. Who's going to roast Matt Hancock now?!"

*I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight on ITV at 9pm
