Amid fears the show may become 'boring', ITV I'm a Celebrity viewers have demanded a 'rule' be implemented to spice the series up. The reality show only returned to screens on Monday night.
However not everyone agrees, with some saying he's "the best part of the show".
This year's participants include pop star Boy George, radio DJ Chris Moyles, rugby world cup winner and royal Mike Tindall, but it's been the late entry of former Health Secretary Matt Hancock that has really caught the headlines. The MP, who has received criticism particularly for the breaking of his own lockdown rules following leaked CCTV footage of him engaging in an affair with Gina Coladangelo, has been voted by viewers to take part in four consecutive bushtuckers trials, with the total looking as though it will only grow further from here.
With many viewers set on voting Hancock to partake in every trial, other viewers have begged that another campmate be given a try to prevent I'm A Celebrity becoming the 'Matt Show".
Clareybella tweeted: "Can #ImACeleb stop making the show in to the Matt Hancock show. I want to see the others get airtime!"
@michelle07red tweeted: "They won’t vote for anyone but Matt now and I think #ImACeleb should change the rules so that if they’ve done a task then they miss the next one and someone else can have a go"
@lucyk512 said: "Have they brought in a new rule of people being exempt if they did the trial the day before just because they know everyone will vote for Matt for every single trial?"
However, @PatFatCat1 tweeted: Hi, I’m Matt Hancock …You may remember me for.... breaking lockdown when you lot were following the rules. If you want to see me eating a cows penis, instead of being one, please vote for me. PS - Please like me."
And @whiteryan30 said: "Seriously if the UK public are gonna vote for Matt Hancock to win this bloody show...WHY? JUST WHY? Jesus even the Queen had to sit ALONE when her husband died while he couldn't give a *poo emoji* breaking COVID rules!"
But Maria Harvey opined: "Watching Matt Hancock on I’m a celebrity is the best part of the show …. I think he’s great."
