I'm A Celebrity fans brand show 'a fix' as Matt Hancock unbelievably reaches final

Matt Hancock 's place in this year's final of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! 2022 has caused outrage online.

Angry fans of the ITV show claim the politician's latest public vote survival reeks of a fix, due to their disbelief some people are actually backing the controversial MP to win the show.

Mike Tindall became the latest star to leave camp during this evening's update from the jungle, leaving Mr Hancock, Jill Scott and Hollyoaks star Owen Warner left to battle it out to be crowned the new King or Queen of the Jungle tomorrow night.

Since ditching his constituents in West Suffolk in favour of a few weeks Down Under, Mr Hancock's jungle stint has angered many across the country - with Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice launching a campaign to block the sitting MP joining this year's I'm A Celebrity line-up.

Last year, former Downing Street chief adviser Dominic Cummings alleged, "tens of thousands of people died who didn't need to die" during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic due to what he claimed to be "criminal, disgraceful behaviour" within Downing Street under the supervision of Mr Hancock.

Matt Hancock can't believe he's reached the final - and neither can many I'm A Celebrity fans (ITV)

But despite being such a controversial campmate, Mr Hancock has seemingly won over a few people during his time in the jungle.

As it was revealed Mike was the last celebrity to be voted out of camp before tomorrow's live final, viewers took to social media to rant about Mr Hancock's successful run on the show.

"The public really are beyond belief voting for @MattHancock no way should he be in @imacelebrity final. #wrong #fix #insulting," one horrified fan declared on Twitter this evening.

Another angry tweet reads: "I’m a celebrity 2022. What a fix, seriously Matt Hancock beat Mike Tindall and is in the final 3…. Really not good, do the British public not recall what Hancock did. Who is voting for him."

"This has gotta be a f***ing fix @ITV how the hell can Hancock be in the final. Bloody ridiculous #ImACelebrity," a third raged on Twitter, as another suspected: "How on friking earth has @MattHancock got in the final. I smell a fix @imacelebrity @antanddec @ITV."

There is nothing to suggest the show is fixed and among the hundreds of angry tweets about Mr Hancock on social media this evening, some I'm A Celebrity viewers admitted they had voted for the disgraced MP.

Mr Hancock was forced to quit as Health Secretary in June 2021 after breaking coronavirus lockdown rules by conducting an affair in his ministerial office with aide Gina Coladangelo.

The West Suffolk MP played a prominent role in the government’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and branded anyone ignoring social distancing rules and restrictions as "very selfish" prior to being caught having an extra-marital affair.

Campaign groups took to the skies to send Mr Hancock a message in camp earlier this month (38 Degrees)

As it was announced the MP would be heading Down Under earlier this month, a group made up of 6,000 people bereaved by Covid-19 wrote how Mr Hancock is not a celebrity but instead, the man "who oversaw the UK having one of the highest death tolls in the world from Covid-19 whilst breaking his own lockdown rules."

In the petition launched by Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK, it was argued Mr Hancock's reality TV cameo would cause "real pain and anguish to those of us who lost loved ones to Covid-19".
