I'm A Celebrity fans baffled over show delay after missing Ant and Dec announcement

Some I'm A Celebrity 2022 viewers were left confused on Tuesday night, as the ITV series did not start at its usual time of 9pm.

Instead, the series' latest episode was revealed to be kicking off with hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly 15 minutes later.

Ant and Dec had revealed this would be the case at the end of Monday night's show, making way for a schedule change.

An extended edition of The Martin Lewis Money Show: Live aired at 8pm, and ran until 9:15pm - meaning the jungle series had to be pushed back.

This was pre-planned and already announced in TV schedules and by Ant and Dec on Tuesday, but some viewers must have missed the news.

As they tuned in to watch the show, some realised they'd forgotten about the schedule shake-up – as others didn't appear to know at all.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "When you turn over to ITV to see I’m a Celeb isn’t on. It’s ok, it’s just on 15 mins late."

Another said: "Can someone please tell me why itv / stv have martin lewis on now when it should be i’m a celeb what is going on?"

A third fan tweeted: "Why is #ImACeleb on at 9.15!!! Why 15 mins late."

It follows the sudden exit of Olivia Attwood, who was forced to withdraw from the ITV series this week.

Olivia was forced to withdraw on medical grounds and despite wanting to return, she has not been allowed to by medics.

A show spokesperson told The Mirror: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo medical checks.

"Unfortunately, the medical team has advised that it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation.

"She has been absolutely brilliant and she'll be very much missed on the show."

Olivia made history as the very first Love Island star on the show, so her incredibly early exit from the show is likely to leave many fans gutted.

A spokesperson on behalf Olivia posted a statement on her Instagram story after her departure, which began with: "To say Olivia it heartbroken would be an understatement."

It added: "She dreamed of doing 'I'm A Celeb' for years and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would)."

"However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short," the statement explained. "Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has.

"You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on your screens in the New Year. Ps. Who's going to roast Matt Hancock now?!"

I'm A Celebrity airs every night at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
