I'm A Celebrity fans accuse show of running out of ideas after 'odd' repeat trial

Viewers wondered why bosses are repeating Bushtucker Trials during this evening's episode of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

As Hollyoaks star Owen Warner, 23, succeeded where Chris Moyles failed last week - successfully taking on the Boiling Point trial - many fans of the show took to social media to ponder why they hadn't been treated to a new Bushtucker Trial.

Some suggested I'm A Celebrity bosses may be 'running out of ideas' as the duplicate trial aired, while one savvy viewer pointed out how thanks to Chris' failures last week we may not have seen everything the Boiling Point trial has to offer.

On tonight's update from the jungle, soap star Owen put himself forward to take on a physical challenge in a bid to win some stars and feed the camp.

But unlike other Bushtucker Trials, Owen knew exactly what he was letting himself in for as he headed off to take on the Boiling Point trial - thanks to Chris fumbling his way through the very same challenge last week.

As he tried to win some stars for his hungry campmate, former Radio 1 DJ Chris looked stressed in a bunker-style area as creepy crawlies landed on his head.

Chris may have only returned to camp with one star, but it was second time lucky for the celebrities when it came to Boiling Point on this evening's show, thanks to Owen securing nine out of nine stars during the Bushtucker Trial's second airing.

But fans watching at home were distracted by the fact the show being eco-friendly and recycling Bushtucker Trials.

"Are they running out of ideas on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here that they are doing the same task that that Chris Moyles did a few weeks ago again?! #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity #Imaceleb2022," one wrote on Twitter earlier this evening.

"Recycling trials on I’m a celebrity [unimpressed-face emoji]," another mused, as a third quipped: "So we are no longer voting for the trials, they’re now also recycling the same trial? Ain’t gunna lie I think I’m a celeb is starting to dry up… watched everything series and I legit think it’s starting to dry up."

As another fan asked why the show 'is repeating trials', one viewer suggested: "Because there’s no way I’m a Celeb paid to build this trial only for Chris to barely do anything in it the last time round."

Many more agreed producers had been forced to give the trial another outing, with one writing: "The producers had to recycle this Boiling Point challenge because Chris did so badly at it the first time round it was a waste #ImACeleb."

After finishing the trial with some time to spare, Owen returned to camp with nine stars under his belt and told his campmates: "We eating good tonight!"

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph later on, the soap star admitted: "I’m going to miss a lot of things about this jungle experience but walking back with good news to a group of hungry people it’s the best feeling ever."
