I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! fans have accused ITV of a 'fix' after Matt Hancock was voted to become camp leader in last night's show.
The disgraced MP was up against Mike Tindall in a bid to rule the camp, but after a bonkers challenge involving a load of light switches - Mr Hancock was declared victorious.
The father-of-three was then given full autonomy over his campmates, but fans were confused when the audience later voted for the MP to do another Bushtucker Trial.
Even though ITV has nothing to do with the public vote, one viewer fumed: "I am really confused because the public keep voting Matt to do the trials because they want him to suffer yet vote for him to be leader."
Another said: "What a fix @imacelebrity ! Won’t be watching it now. Spoilt it having Matt in there!!!! #ImACeleb."
While a third quipped: "You’re telling me the same public are voting for Matt Hancock to do trials (least popular) AND camp leader (most popular)?? I smell an ITV fix for desperate ratings. #ImACelebrity #ImACeleb."
The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment.
Mr Hancock joked that being made leader of the camp made up for his loss against Boris Johnson.
Sitting on a red leather car seat, surrounded by his 'subjects', he said: “Obviously, it’s a great honour and privilege to be camp leader. I want to thank everybody who voted for me.”
His deputy, Charlene White, then teased the former Health Secretary, saying she was 'super proud' of him for winning 'one' leadership contest.
But Mr Hancock didn't have long to enjoy his fiefdom.
At the end of the show, Ant and Dec announced the public had voted for the politician to do yet another trial.
In a preview of tonight's episode, Mr Hancock is tasked with unlocking 11 stars in 11 minutes to earn meals for his campmates.
Lying on his back in an underground chamber, the MP can be seen frantically searching in boxes containing a cacophony of critters for keys which unlock padlocks containing stars.
Desperate, Mr Hancock says: “I can’t find anything,” before Dec reassures him saying: “Feel all around for the keys”.
During the trial, the MP notices a snake near his face in the chamber, exclaiming “That’s a snake”.
Mr Hancock has made his fear of snakes known after coming within spitting distance of a reptile in the House of Horrors in a nail-biting show last night (Nov 13).
