I'm A Celebrity: Carol Vorderman claims 'very uncomfortable' shower scenes were most challenging part of show

Carol Vorderman has reflected on her time in the 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' jungle, detailing the 'very uncomfortable' experiences she had in the shower. The ITV reality series sees stars stripped of their luxurious lifestyles to cope with the very basics in the Australian jungle for up to three weeks, sleeping on hammocks and eating a diet largely composed of rice and beans.

The celebrities, as fans will know, ditch their clean, hot showers in the UK for the waterfall-style offering in camp, with shower scenes often featuring in the show as there are cameras capturing the stars as they wash their bodies. Carol, who appeared on I'm A Celebrity back in 2016, said that using the infamous shower during her jungle stint was one of the things she found the hardest about the experience.

During a conversation with Rosie Nixon on the 'In A Good Place' podcast, the Clifton resident said that there was 'nowhere to hide' when she was in the shower, which she described as being 'weird'. The 61-year-old Countdown whizz said: "It's very uncomfortable,

"I found it uncomfortable, mostly because you could see three cameras. You could see where they were positioned and there was nowhere to hide,"

Carol, who often receives comments about her body, added: "I wore swimming costumes rather than a bikini deliberately. It is a weird thing, that shower."

Carol then explained she believes that times have changed since she went on I'm A Celebrity six years ago, claiming that show bosses would now be less tolerant of such images, MailOnline reports. The maths genius said: "They don't do it now.

"It was of its time. That shows how society's rules change."

Carol is set to return to I'm A Celebrity, it has been reported, as she is due to appear in the spin-off 'All Stars' series, which was filmed in South Africa in September. Other stars said to be joining the 61-year-old in the special series include Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, Joe Swash, Paul Burrell, and Gillian McKeith, to name a few.
