I'm A Celebrity All Stars evicts Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith in trial twist

Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith have become the first two stars to leave I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.

The pair were evicted from the camp tonight by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after they ended up placing last in the trial that aired this evening. Up against two other pairings - Andy Whyment and Jordan Banjo, and Phil Tuffnell and Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo - they ended up coming last in the trial and thus were sent packing on the ITV programme.

Shaun, Phil and Andy had all been living in Savannah Scrub and away from the main camp, and were tasked with choosing who they wanted to be partnered up with for the new trial - and chose their fellow celebrities.

As they were taken to the trial clearing, the six stars were shown what they would be facing. They were handcuffed together and had to remove spanners and wrenches from three boxes to eventually get themselves free.

Toff and Phil got off to the best start, quickly passing the snake challenge and racing to the second set of boxes, which were filled with offal. For their third box, they were tasked with removing the spanner from a box of rats.

However, Andy and Jordan were quick on their tails and managed to go ahead of them at the halfway point, with Toff and Phil eventually falling to second place. Gillian and Shaun struggled to get off the first box, with the Happy Mondays star easily securing his wrench but Gillian refused to put her hand in with the snakes and couldn't get hers.

As a result, at the end of the trial, the pair were told they were heading home and were out of the competition.

Speaking ahead of entering the camp, Gillian had said: "It’s going to be more terrifying this time because back then, I didn’t know what to expect but this time I can’t use that as an excuse. What I felt before feels 1,000 times worse now and all of it freaks me out but I feel I’ve got a calling to represent all the scaredy cats in Britain – and that is the reason why I’ve said yes."

Shaun added on his first day in the camp, before Gillian's arrival: "Seems a really, really good bunch of people. Dead natural, normal and down to earth. You know, they don't seem to be any k***heads."

The pair famously fell out in their series but all seemed to be good with them as they left together tonight.
