For those wondering why Boy George is wearing a different uniform to his fellow I’m A Celebrity campmates, there is a simple answer - he asked.

While everyone else is sporting the same khaki shirts and red shorts in promotional pictures, the Culture Club singer, 61, looks distinctively different in a a spotty top and jagged hat.

It’s not a case of favouritism, though; the Do You Really Want To Hurt Me hit-maker asked TV bosses if he could customise his outfit and they agreed, a source told Metro.

His crown-shaped hat could be a nod to his desire to be crowned this year’s King of the Jungle.

He will face some tough competition, however. Royal ex-England rugby ace Mike Tindall is currently the favourite to win, with William Hill giving him odds of 4-1.

Introducing the class of 2022 (ITV)

Also confirmed to be taking part this year are several soap and reality stars, including Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner, and Love Islander Olivia Attwood.

Former A Place in the Sun host Scarlette Douglas, Loose Women and ITV News’s Charlene White, and radio host Chris Moyles have also signed on.

While England football star Jill Scott and comedian Babatunde Aléshé complete the 2022 line-up.
