I'm a Celebrity 2022 line-up rumours as ITV show leaves Wales

With likely more than six months to go before I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is back on our screens - and probably not in Wales - the rumours about who'll be entering the camp have already started.

Last month ITV bosses confirmed that it was likely to return to Australia after two years being based at Gwrych Castle near Abergele, due to the pandemic. Hosts Ant & Dec also hoped to return to Australia despite saying they had a warm welcome in Wales. Ant said on The Graham Norton Show: "If it has to be Wales for another series, we will do it in Wales, but we want to go back to Australia."

This got us wondering about who might be in the jungle (or castle) this year and here are the latest rumours, reported by MirrorOnline.

Tom Daley

The knitting-enthusiast, gold-medal-winning Olympian is a big target for TV bosses, both for IAC and Strictly. Earlier this year, it was claimed ITV bosses were in a battle with Strictly Come Dancing, as both the BBC and ITV were desperate to sign up the diver for their shows. A source said: "There is a race to secure Tom – both broadcasters know he will be loved by viewers."

Of course, last year, Tom's diving partner Matty Lee competed on IAC.

Danny Dyer

Danny is leaving EastEnders later this year and this could result in the perfect opportunity for IAC bosses to snap him up for a camp stint. “Producers think Danny would be great on the series and is their number one target," a source told The Sun. “They’re hoping he’ll be finished in time, they’d definitely be up for a big money offer.”

The bookies are also backing Danny to be the top billing star of the upcoming season, and last month he was at odds of 5/1 of starring in the show.

Peter Crouch

Last month bookies William Hill had the footballer and podcaster down for 7/1 to be part of the line-up. He will follow in the footsteps of other footie stars including Neil 'Razor' Ruddock.

Matt Hancock

We're not sure if we'd want to see the former Health Secretary in shorts and a polo neck in the jungle, but being voted for gory trials might sway that opinion. With odds at 16/1, he's still an MP, but that didn't stop Nadine Dorries in 2012.
