I'm A Celeb winner Jill Scott reacts to being paid 'much less' that Matt Hancock

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here winner Jill Scott has broken her silence after Matt Hancock's fee was revealed.

The Lioness went on to win the ITV1 show last year, triumphing in the Australian jungle against runner up Owen Warner and the disgraced Conservative MP. It has now been revealed that Mr Hancock earned a whopping £320,000 for his stint on the jungle show last November, whilst Jill's rumoured fee is thought to be much less at £120,00.

Whilst Jill went on to win the show, she has now broken her silence on the huge difference between the two amounts, with the footballing legend's rumoured fee nearly two thirds lower than Mr Hancock's.

Speaking to Kate Garraway and Adil Ray on Good Morning Britain today, Jill was asked if she was paid higher or lower than Mr Hancock, to which she confirmed she was paid less before joking she could open a new coffee shop if she was paid as much as him.

"It's emerged that Matt Hancock was paid more than £320,000, higher or lower for you?" Kate asked.

Jill then replied: "A lot lower. I could have opened a new coffee shop with that much." Adding what she wanted to do with the fame that has come from her win, she shared: "I want to help. I feel like my journey with the Euros, getting that gold medal, my journey's done so I want to give back to the next generation and get back on the grass."

Mr Hancock previously revealed he had turned down I'm A Celebrity in the past - but insisted the high pay amount wasn't part of his decision to join the jungle show this time around.

"And no, it wasn’t the cheque that changed my mind. I will be making a donation to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and causes supporting dyslexia off the back of my appearance," he said at the time, "I will, of course, also declare the amount I receive from the show to Parliament to ensure complete transparency, as normal."

Documents published by the Houses of Commons state that Mr Hancock received an eye-watering amount from Lifted Entertainment, ITV, with the fee being registered on January 11, 2023.

Following Mr Hancock declaring the £320,000 fee, the Mirror can now reveal how much of the pay cheque has been donated to charitable and good causes so far, with a spokesperson for Mr Hancock telling the Mirror: "As well as raising the profile of his dyslexia campaign in front of 11-million viewers, Matt's donated £10,000 to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and the British Dyslexia Association, off the back of his appearance on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.'"
