I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Scarlette Douglas hasn't been informed about Jonnie Irwin's heartbreaking cancer diagnosis.
The presenter who quit A Place In The Sun earlier this year presented alongside Jonnie for six years but didn't know the true extent of his illness.
On Sunday, Jonnie opened up about his diagnosis, two years after doctors dealt him the devastating blow that he had lung cancer, which has now spread to his brain.
In a new update, he revealed that medical staff had informed him that he has just six months left to live.
Now, sources claim Scarlette has no idea and will not be told about the upsetting news by ITV staff.
Speaking to The Sun, a friend of the star said: "She knows Jonnie really well and he was a big help to her when she first started working on the show.
"She holds him in high regard and will never forget how welcoming he was from the outset, she knew he was ill, but didn’t know just what stage it was at.
"There will definitely be a sense of shock and sadness when she hears the news when she gets out."
Jonnie first noticed a warning sign about his cancer while filming A Place In The Sun in the summer of 2020, after his vision became blurry.
"Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live," he explained to Hello! magazine.
He went on to tell the publication: "It's got to the point now where it feels like I'm carrying a dirty secret, it's become a monkey on my back.
"I hope that by shaking that monkey off I might inspire people who are living with life-limiting prospects to make the most of every day, to help them see that you can live a positive life, even though you are dying."
The presenter, who has continued to work despite his shattering news added that he's doing "everything he can" to hold off the day he dies but knows it's "going to catch up" with him.
In a heartwarming admission, he said: "I don't know how long I have left but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I'm living with cancer, not dying from it."
Jonnie and his wife Jessica share three children, Rex, three, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two.
