I'm a Celeb's Mike Tindall speaks on elimination as he's reunited with wife Zara

Mike Tindall has said he is "comfortable" with returning to civilisation after being the latest campmate to be evicted from I'm A Celebrity...Get me Out of Here!

The Rugby World Cup winner was given a hero's welcome as he arrived to the plush JW Marriot hotel with wife Zara Philips, the first royal to meet a contestant at the jungle.

Tindall is the eighth campmate be eliminated from the reality show on Saturday, coming fourth overall. The 44 year-old, who is married to King Charles' niece, raised his arms in celebration and could be seen smiling as he entered the hotel.

After hugging former campmates like Seann Walsh and Sue Cleaver, the royal headed up to one of the plush hotel rooms for a shower and some well needed rest. The sportsman said he enjoyed his time in the wilderness, citing his positive attitude in getting him so far, reports the Mirror.

In his eviction interview on ITV, Mike told hosts Ant and Dec: "I’m good. It’s been a long time. I can feel my body was getting ready to go. I’m pretty comfortable with it."

"It’s been a lot of laughs. That is the best thing. You can get through anything when the humour is good."

Mike also revealed that he had mentally prepared himself for the challenge before he entered the jungle. The World Cup-wining star explained: "Before I went in, I imagined the worst case scenario. Then you can deal with everything that’s coming at you.

"The only time I almost had a little wobble was when we had the night-time challenge. But then Seann had a wobble, and I could just go back to focus on [helping] Seann."

He also spoke about his run of seven nights sleeping in the luxury camper van, saying: 'It's weird because you don't want to go in there.

"You get acclimatised to where you are. I was on the bottom bunk under Owen, so it was dry. Then you go in the RV and it was weird."

The presenters cheekily brought up Mike's penchant for small swimwear and asked if it was Zara's idea for him to wear tiny trunks in the shower.

He responded: "They were always my idea! You wear trunks in the shower, it's always a bit of fun. Get my pineapples out!"

The former rugby star also told Ant and Dec that he hoped Jill Scott is crowned winner. He also claimed that Tory MP Matt Hancock is desperate to win and is "polling for votes" by making his name and number visible at all times in the jungle.

The winner of the series will be crowned on Sunday.
