I'm A Celeb's Jill makes barbed jibe at Matt Hancock as he issues camp rules

Jill Scott made a cheeky jibe at Matt Hancock when he dished out camp rules on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The former Health Secretary and Loose Women's Charlene White had to assign chores to their fellow campmates.

Each celebrity had to be allocated two chores while the leader and deputy were exempt and couldn't assist in chores around the camp.

Both Matt and Charlene said it was 'going to be hard' to assign chores while they sit back.

Matt started to tell the camp who was doing what when Jill interrupted.

Jill: "Just to be clear, are these guidelines or rules?"

Matt answered: "These are rules. This is the law of the jungle, Jill."

She laughed: "Just checking."

The MP caused an uproar due to his rule-breaking during the pandemic as well as his role as the Health Secretary at the time.

He had been asked about the pandemic by other campmates when he insisted he did not break any laws - but admitted to breaking Covid guidance.

Speaking to his campmates on Friday's edition of the jungle series, he denied breaking any Covid laws when grilled about his resignation as Health Secretary in 2021.

It followed Hancock and government aide Gina Coladangelo's affair being outed, as well as the fact the pair had broken strict Covid guidelines - which he says was down to him "falling in love".

The affair was exposed after Hancock was caught on CCTV canoodling with Gina, with it believed that the images were leaked by an insider at the Department of Health on May 6, 2021.

The politician denied getting a lockdown fine after it was revealed that gatherings took place with political figures.

Chris Moyles had asked: "You got a lockdown fine, didn’t you?" to which he replied: "No, of course I didn’t. No, I did not. I didn’t break any…"

Charlene said: "You were socialising with someone outside of your household," with him replying: "I didn’t break any laws. Guidance is different."

As Scarlette Douglas asked why he broke the rules, he said: "Because it was a mistake, because I fell in love with somebody."
