I'm A Celeb 'nullifies' Matt Hancock's 'bad stuff' after leading to 'death of so many'

Matt Hancock appearing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has angered thousands, including his constituents who have been left with no access to their local MP.

DJ and television personality Woody Cook has also hit out at the disgraced former Health Secretary who was forced out of the Cabinet after it emerged he breached his own laws.

Hancock, 44, had an affair with a colleague of his while the UK remained under strict lockdown laws.

Fresh from his headline set at London's Tour de Dance, Woody hit out at ITV's decision to include the Chester-born politician in the line-up.

"Make him eat kangaroo balls," he told The Mirror, before adding: "I saw a post, it was like 'why are we letting this person who led to the death of so many human beings go on TV?'

"When you laugh at someone on I'm A Celeb, you're kind of laughing with them, rather than at them, they're almost in on the joke.

"So when politicians go on and they play up to their persona of a bumbling idiot, it almost nullifies the bad stuff he did."

Woody who has headlined around the world including Ministry of Sound: "I think that's the problem with our politicians at the moment, we can't hold them accountable because they're just personas, 'it's only BoJo, it's only Matt Hancock ', no, they did do really bad stuff.

"I'm excited to watch him do horrible things but at the same time, I wish we could hold them more accountable."

Woody went on to say that the appearance is the "perfect" opportunity to embarrass Hancock on the programme.

But while he admits he wouldn't like to be in the jungle with Matt, he did explain he'd consider going on the show in the future, saying: "I've always said, I want to have enough of my own platform to not be known as Woody from I'm A Celeb.

"I'm only going to go on it when I know I've done enough, I want to perfect my craft, make music, do other things, I've got a lot of things I want to do including a mental health event.

"When I'm established, I'd love to do it, I love challenging myself, I'm the one who gets screwed over in truth or date because I do most of the dares."

Woody brought London's streets to a standstill as he DJ'ed at the rave on wheels organised by bike subscription brand, Swapfiets and in partnership with Save Our Scene.
