I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here fans were left in hysterics on Thursday evening as Boy George met Matt Hancock ’s girlfriend during the final part of the 2022 series in the Coming Out show.
Though all of the celebrity campmates have now departed the Australian jungle, fans of the ITV reality show were treated to one more episode.
The 2022 Coming Out Show followed each celebrity after they were voted out and returned to civilisation in an ITV1 special with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
The one-off ITV special combined the best highlights from the explosive 2022 series as well as interviews with the celebrities, including Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott.
As Boy George exited the jungle to stay at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, he gave Matt Hancock's partner Gina Colangelo a hug at the entrance in scenes viewers dubbed ‘awkward’.
She introduced himself as Boy George replied: "It's all cool, love. We got on in the end."
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Boy George hugging Matt girlfriend then his facial expressions,” alongside a crying laughing emoji.
Another wrote: “Boy George having to refrain from laughing in Matt’s girlfriend’s face when she introduced herself.”
A third chimed: “I can’t stand Gina or George but JESUS CHRIST WAS THAT HILARIOUS.”
Another added: “Boy George meeting Gina I’m screaming,” as one wrote: “George’s face while hugging Gina,” with a string of crying laughing emojis.
This comes after Ant and Dec declared I'm A Celebrity 2022 ‘the best series for years’ and admitted the inclusion of Matt Hancock was ‘interesting’.
Asked about the series, Ant said: "Yeah it was the best for years. Loved it. Absolutely loved it.
“A good winner in Jill, she is great isn't she? I think her or Owen, he would have really loved the win, but we were all really happy she won and would have been if it was vice versa.”
Quizzed about Mr Hancock, Dec said: “Well that was an interesting one, wasn't it? Yeah, he did very well in there. Obviously coming third.”
Asked if he was nervous about interviewing him, he added: “It was a bit of a different one, but no, not very nervous because, you know, it was all within the context of the show. So yeah, that was really interesting.”
Ant would not be drawn on his opinions about the West Suffolk MP, who was paid a reported £400,000.
Asked what he thought of Hancock, he grinned and said: “I just think the whole series has been good, you know. It's been great,” before heading for the departure gates to fly back to London earlier this week.
