I'm a Celeb fans can enjoy extra long first episode due to air in November

Fans of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! will have another reason to smile when the hit show returns on November 6. The 22nd series will kick off with a mega long episode lasting 105 minutes.

The mammoth episode due to air at 9pm on Sunday night is packed with celebrity interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes content as the contestants reveal their reasons for signing up to one of the most popular reality shows in the UK.

As reported by Mirror, the 105-minute special will be a real treat for I'm a Celeb fans. This year's contestants will have to take into their stride a series of challenges set by hosts Ant and Dec.

The new batch of campmates are stars from the world of radio, reality television and soaps. Radio DJ Chris Moyles, Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver and Love Island star Olivia Attwood will be among the celebs getting close to creepy crawlies in the jungle camp near the town of Murwillumbah in New South Wales, Australia.

Chris was the first star confirmed to be in the line-up after landing at Brisbane airport on Tuesday, followed by Olivia later. Others celebs who have since been confirmed, by their arrival in Oz, are Hollyoaks' Owen Warner, and Sue.

Famous faces thought to be entering the jungle, but yet to arrive Down Under, are Rugby star and royal Mike Tindall, Loose Women star Charlene White and Culture Club's Boy George. Chris, 48, posed for photos in sunglasses and was in a joking mood as he got into a waiting car.

Asked if he was looking forward to spending time in Australia, Chris said: "It should be nice, fingers crossed anyway." Quizzed if he was scared of things in the jungle like snakes and spiders he joked: "There's lots of everything in this country, like sport and beer and I am not scared of sport of beer.

"So I think I will be alright." He then added: "I have absolutely no idea what my family and friends would think of me doing a show like I'm a Celebrity.

"I have never asked them. But I think they would be much more nervous about me doing Antiques Roadshow."

Hosts Ant and Dec said they wanted to see Moyles as a campmate back in 2012 when Moyles was still a huge star on Radio 1. Chris and Olivia arrived around 10 days before the start of the series, much earlier than usual, with Sue and Owen arriving a day letter.

ITV asked the celebrities to arrive around a week in advance so they could isolate and also be tested for Covid. If they were to be unfortunate and pick up coronavirus on the flight over, the idea was there might be enough time to isolate and still test negative before the series starts.

An ITV source told the Mirror: "The celebrities are arriving earlier than previous years to isolate and test for Covid before entering camp." I'm a Celeb is back in Australia this year after the show was filmed in north Wales last year due to Covid.
