I'm a Celeb camp turns on teary Matt Hancock as he reveals he wants 'forgiveness' on show

The I'm a Celebrity camp is starting to to sour on Conservative MP Matt Hancock - as he seemed to imply that he was on the show to look for 'forgiveness' from them and the public.

Since he entered the Virgin Media reality show, Hancock has been voted for every single 'Bushtucker trial' but has so far been nailing them to earn meals for his fellow celebrities.

On Friday night, he appeared to stun his campmates with his confession that he was "looking for forgiveness" over his "mistakes".

He was questioned on how he felt he handled the pandemic in his role as Health Secretary, after the heavy backlash the government faced at the time - and continue to face now.

But, as the Mirror UK report, as Hancock denied breaking the law, he soon became emotional as he revealed his intentions for doing the show, and beyond.

As the campmates listened, they shared their thoughts over Hancock's handling of the pandemic as the Health Secretary at the time - as well as him breaking the rules the public were expected to follow.

Sue Cleaver added, as the chat continued: "I think we’ve covered everything, we should stop. What I do appreciate is that you did eat a sheep’s vagina for us. And life isn’t black and white and we are all fallible and we all f*** up."

But the chat went on, as Hancock said to Charlene: "Do you know what it is actually, what I’m really looking for is a bit of forgiveness, that’s what I’m really looking for."

Sue said: "Well done, that’s great. Just say that," and Scarlette Douglas added: "I nearly cried then."

Hancock replied: “So did I. We all make mistakes. I made a pretty big one."

Charlene hugged him, as Sue said: "The humanness has come out now. That took b***s Matt to say that," before she hugged him too.

But despite the other campmates seemingly having sympathy for Matt, Chris Moyles wasn't buying it.

Speaking to the Bush Telegraph, Chris admitted: "Honestly the way I feel now is he's pulled the mask slightly off his chin a little bit, but I still think he's not telling us the full truth.

Later speaking to Scarlette, Chris said: "It was when he asked for forgiveness. I wanted to say 'forgiveness for what, Matt? What are you sorry for, being caught or having an affair, making bad decisions or lying? If you're going to be real then be real. I don't think he's being real and it's bugging me."
