Matt Hancock faced the wrath of his campmates for entering I'm A Celebrity jungle as they didn't hold back their views on him abandoning his constituency at home.
The former health secretary, 44, has already caused quite a stir in camp, having taken part in two Bushtucker Trials and been nominated for his third which will air on Friday's show.
And Hancock has faced scrutiny from the rest of the cast, with A Place In The Sun's Scarlette Douglas telling the MP people were "angry and upset" with his arrival.
She told Hancock: “I want to say this morning as I don’t like to leave things in… a lot of things that happened with you during the times, which does make it difficult because people are angry and upset emotions are running high… we’re not going to ever exclude anyone.
"We want to make sure that everyone’s a family, but if it does feel tough for the first few days, I’m sure you understand why.”
To which he said: “That’s very good of you to say that.”
Scarlette continued: “It was hard, a lot of people had difficult times… and then to see that people that had kind of set the rules had then broken them I think was a big slap in the face for everyone.”
Hancock replied: "Look, I know how people felt. That’s why I resigned, right? I know how people felt and so good on you for saying that, thank you."
Elsewhere on the show, Hancock addressed his affair with Gina Coladangelo for the first time.
The MP faced fury from fans as he used the excuse of "falling in love" to explain why he broke the strict Covid rules the government had imposed during the pandemic.
The dalliance, which was exposed after he was caught on CCTV canoodling with his aide at the Department of Health HQ during the pandemic, ended his marriage and cost him his job as Health Secretary.
Speaking about the aftermath, Hancock admitted he "messed up and fessed up" to his wife of 15 years Martha and the public.
But Babatúndé Aleshe couldn't resist poking fun about him "grabbing booty" in the steamy clinch.
The comedian asked Hancock how he had been doing.
Hancock said: "It's obviously been really tough. I messed up and I fessed up. I resigned it's no excuse but I fell in love, right?
"That also had a lot of other consequences as well".
To which Babatúndé said: "You didn't just fall in love, you were grabbing booty."
Hancock said: "Oh, give over. You are a comedian. It's been hard but I obviously brought it on myself. It's been tough."
The MP, who has three children with his ex wife, went on to say Coladangelo, 45, plans to meet him over the bridge after being asked by the comedian if they were still together.
- I'm A Celebrity continues on ITV tonight at 9pm.
