Leeds United forward Sam Greenwood has claimed Patrick Bamford is the perfect player for him to look up to both on and off the field. Bamford’s recent injury troubles have enabled Greenwood to be handed some decent opportunities in the first team as he has come off the bench in two of the last three matches.
Greenwood has registered two assists in those matches, with Jesse Marsch claiming that the 20-year-old is the player who has adapted the best to his tactics. The England U20 international joined the Whites from Arsenal in the summer of 2020 and in his first season at the club, put in some impressive performances for the U23s.
During that campaign, Bamford enjoyed the best season of his career to date as he netted 17 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League. His form and hard work saw him receive his England debut in September, though injuries have since prevented him from building on that momentum.

Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Greenwood stated that Bamford’s movement is among the best he has ever seen and believes he couldn’t have a better role model to be learning from at this stage of his career.
“He’s been great," he said. "Obviously, I look up to people like him everyday in training, trying to study off people like him. His movement, I think it’s second to none. It’s one of the best I’ve seen.
"People like him, I’m always looking up to and learning everyday in training. He’s a great guy to look up to, and he’s such a nice guy as well."
