Cody Gakpo says he has not heard anything from Manchester United regarding a transfer but says he would consider an offer if one came in.
The Netherlands attacker spoke to the Reds over a potential summer move before Erik ten Hag decided to spend £85m on Antony. He later described the failed move as a “shame” but has kicked on with epic performances for both club and country.
Gakpo has netted 13 times for PSV Eindhoven this season, also providing 17 assists. He’s shown his qualities at the World Cup too, netting in every group stage game to help guide the Netherlands to the quarter-finals.

He has been constantly linked with a United switch since the summer and these have only increased since the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo. Ten Hag is expected to dip into the market for an attacker in January and Gakpo has impressed for the Dutch when playing as a striker in Qatar.
However, his season didn’t get off altogether smoothly. PSV lost to Rangers in the Champions League qualifiers and Gakpo described that period of the campaign as “tough”, especially after missing out on a move to England.
Speaking to Dutch outlet NRC, he added that, at the time, he started to “panic” after the loss with potential moves to United and Leeds hanging in the balance. He admitted: “I thought about Manchester United, but when that didn't happen, I didn't know anymore. And I started to doubt.
“Leeds United did come. Should I go there? Now I wait everything. I haven't heard from Manchester United yet. When they come, I'll think about it. I also seek the help of God in these.”
Earlier this week, Gakpo insisted he was, for now, concentrating on the World Cup. He said: "I’m not thinking about that now.
"I’m just really focused on the tournament, trying to keep performing well and helping the team and hopefully when we become world champion then I can think about that.
"I’m just trying to keep focused and the other players don’t really talk about those things which also helps me in this situation."
