People are sharing some of their biggest mistakes in life with Dublin Live, including a man’s hilarious decision to get his wife’s name tattooed on his arm.
The man originally got a rose design etched on his arm to honour his wife, but realised as he got older that the decision had quite literally scarred him for life. He told Dublin Live: “I got a tattoo and it was the worst thing I’ve ever done. It cost me £1,000 (€1,140) to have it removed. It had my wife’s name under it. I’ll never get another tattoo, not at my age anyway.”
The majority of people had humorous anecdotes to share, although some were more heartfelt than others. One woman expressed regret at not finishing her education first time around when she was young. The woman, who left school prior to completing her Junior Cert, said it made life more challenging in the long term.

She said: “The reason I left was to help my mam and dad out because they hadn’t much money. That’s why I left, to get my own job and help them out. It would have been better if I’d stayed on because I could have helped them better with money in their old age.”
Several people mentioned that they should have saved more money in their younger years .One man said that putting by €10 a week would have helped him immensely in the long run had he planned ahead.
He said: “I wish I had saved. I only started when I was 30 and if I could just back in time to tell myself to put by a tenner a week, I would.”
Another woman she wished she could go back and stop herself from cheekily stealing some chewing gum as a child, mainly because of the scolding she received in the aftermath.
