Conor Coady believes his Everton side need to take a look at themselves and opened up on his role in Liverpool's second goal during Monday's Merseyside derby.
Sean Dyche suffered his first defeat as Everton manager at Anfield after goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo sealed a 2-0 win for the Reds. The defeat leaves the Blues inside the Premier League relegation zone.
Salah’s opening goal came just seconds after James Tarkowski headed against the post, while Gakpo's goal, at the start of the second-half, was a result of a defensive horror show from Dyche’s side.

“We look first and foremost that we’ve lost the game, so we need to look at where we’ve lost the game,” Coady told Sky Sports post-match.
“We give two goals away that they probably want in terms of counter attacks, we know that they like being on the counter attack, we know they’ve got pace on the counter attack, so for us to give them two goals like that is massively, massively disappointing and we need to eradicate that as much as possible.
“First half I thought we were a little bit nervy, the reason for that I don’t really know coming off the pitch now, and we tried to play a little bit more second half but the game was tough to get back into and standing here now to say we’ve lost the game is hard but we need to look at ourselves and try and make ourselves better this week.”
Before the Everton centre-back added: "It is [fine margins], them things happen in the Premier League, not just games like this but them things happen in the Premier League.
"The teams are good in the league and that’s what happens but I won’t continue to give two counter attacks away. It’s not the fact we’ve missed the chance, we all miss chances, he hit the post, it was terrific from the big fella and we’re great from corners, it’s us giving away counter attacks knowing that’s what they’re good at and what they want.
"We need to look at ourselves and where we can put that right, can we be a little bit more savvy? Because that’s what the bigger teams tend to do as well."
And when asked about Gakpo's goal, Coady admitted: "The cross had a little bit of a deflection so it’s hit more towards Picks, and I’ll be honest with you, I was hoping nobody was gonna be there at the back because if I touch it I’ll slide and I think it’s going in my own net.
"No matter what it’s going to go in the goal, and I was just hoping Seamus was there to knock it out or whatever it may be. It’s one of them the counter attack was given away and when you’re put into that situation it’s a tough one to make a decision in that split moment. We’re gutted by it, we’re gutted by everything."
