The mum of a teen who died in a deadly road smash has launched an impassioned appeal to help find how her son passed away.
Ben Smith died at just 17-years-old last July following the crash on Holcroft Lane, in Culcheth. The smash in the borough of Warrington happened at around 9:30pm on July 18, 2022.
Sadly, Ben died at the scene, with a 13-year-old also being taken to hospital with serious injuries. Now, cops and mum Sue have launched an appeal after turning up a new lead.

The investigation centres around the owner of a red motorcycle, who was seen just prior to collision. Detectives believe they ‘may be key to understanding the exact circumstances of the incident’.
“I am struggling to come to terms with the loss of my son at such a young age, I know that this will not bring Ben back but any help from the rider or other witnesses will help me and the Police investigation into the collision,” said Sue.
Enquiries in relation to the appeal remain ongoing and officers are also appealing to anyone who may have been on Holcroft Lane between 9pm and 9:30pm on that evening. Anyone with information is urged to report it via the website quoting IML 1320718 or call 101.
Information can also be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously via https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously or call 0800 555 111.
