"I idolise you, my boy": Heartbroken girlfriend of Moss Side murder victim, 20, pays tribute

The heartbroken girlfriend of a 20-year-old man at the centre of a murder investigation in Moss Side has paid a touching tribute to him.

Thaira Cole described the pain of losing Javell Morgan is 'unbearable' and said that just days before his tragic death, the pair were together and talking about the future, YorkshireLive reports. Javell lost his life after being stabbed on Claremont Road in the early hours of Monday (August 15).

It was originally thought he had been shot, though Greater Manchester Police released more details about his tragic death yesterday. Javell, from Leeds, whose family live between Halifax and Huddersfield, died in hospital after suffering horrific injuries and a murder investigation was launched.

Thaira, 18, said she keeps playing clips of Javell's voice and has spent the last couple of days watching the couple's favourite show and buying his favourite things. In a heartfelt message she said: "I can’t begin to explain what I’m feeling right now. It’s so unbearable. I see you every time I close my eyes.

"I dream about you. I was just with my boy a couple of days ago. We were talking, joking and planning our future.

"My room is how you left it. My bedding, everything smells of you and I've not slept in it since. I can't stop watching our favourite show, Law & Order, you absolutely loved it. I am laid in your tracksuit and top - I can’t get out of it.

"Last night I ate our favourite meal: peri burger, chips and a Fanta. I even left a few chips like you do. I can’t stop buying your favourite things. I keep playing your voice, I've got it on replay. I miss hearing you joking around and calling me 'Tyrizzy my rizzy'. I really will always be your Tie - your rizzy.

"Everyone knows how much you love me and how much I love you. I idolise you, my boy. We made a 'pinkie promise' to always have each other forever. I have even got your name there. I have got you across my heart forever too - I'll never get rid of them. We have the best memories. Thank you for the best year. I am forever your girlfriend, I am forever yours. Sleep tight my boy. I love you my Javell."

On Wednesday night, police confirmed a violent knife brawl that broke out just metres away from where Javell was attacked was not related. A group of men were seen fighting on Roseberry Street at 2.52am.

Two men were stabbed. Further assaults outside Moss Side area the same night were not related to Javell's death.

In a statement issued yesterday, GMP’s Senior Investigating Officer, DCI Neil Higginson, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Javell Morgan, as they try to process the devastating death of their loved one. They have requested privacy at this time.

"Now a Home Office post-mortem has been performed, we can confirm that Javell sadly died as a result of stab injuries, not by a shooting, as was originally thought. As the investigation progresses and all lines of enquiry explored, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have any information to assist our ongoing investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101; or by visiting www.gmp.police.uk. People can also contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, 0800 555 111 or visit GMP's public portal at https://mipp.police.uk/operation/06GMP22A55-PO1
