Mob boss Cornelius Price has died – and the father of one of his victims says he hopes he now “burns in hell”.
Gardai were last night notified of Price’s death in the UK, where he had been suffering from limbic encephalitis in a gravely ill state in a Welsh hospital since late 2021.
The 41-year-old was the leader of a dangerous crime gang that operated out of Gormanstown, Co Meath, and which was centrally involved with the Maguire mob in the horrific Drogheda feud.

He had been on trial in the UK over a kidnap and blackmail plot but had been unable to attend court due to his serious illness.
It can now be revealed for the first time that gardai believe Price was directly behind the ruthless murders of tragic couple Willie Maughan, 34, and his pregnant partner Ana Varslavane, 21, on April 14, 2015.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror last night, Willie Maughan’s father Joe said: “I wish death on nobody but if there’s one person in the world that deserves to die it’s him. I hope he burns now in hell.
“He’s done evil things. Evil has to be dealt with. You don’t get away with evil.
“Is it justice? No. Because we don’t have William and we don’t have Ana.”
It is believed Price ordered Willie and Ana’s murders and the subsequent disposing of their remains in a shocking case which continues to make headlines.
The couple were murdered on Price’s heavily fortified compound in Gormanstown before it’s thought their remains were cremated.
Price is believed to have been present during the murders.
The remains of the tragic couple have never been recovered and evil Price now takes whatever secrets he had to his grave.
Willie’s father Joe said: “He’s gone but other people have secrets. Please God they come forward.”
