Rio Ferdinand is backing Darwin Nunez to 'come good' at Liverpool after showing impressive signs during his first season in the Premier League.
The Uruguayan striker has come in for undeserved criticism from rival fans and pundits since making a big-money switch from Benfica in the summer.
Nunez put the ball on a plate for Mohamed Salah to convert in the 2-0 win over Everton before scoring his seventh league goal of the campaign in Saturday's victory at Newcastle.

The former Manchester United defender was speaking about the Liverpool striker on his FIVE YouTube channel: "Do you know what I like about Nunez? I saw a quote from Nunez after. He said ‘I’m a bit like Suarez. Second season, I’ll come good. Done it at Benfica’.
“I think he will. I honestly think he will come good. He’s got all the attributes that defenders don’t like to play against. He’s aggressive, he’s strong, he likes to run in behind, he’s a nuisance, he’s a bit unpredictable.”
