Defense wins championships, but it also attracts All-Star caliber players to want to be traded to a team, or at least it appears to be the case after Boston Celtics reserve guard Malcolm Brogdon’s postgame comments following the Celtics’ 111-104 win over the Miami Heat on Friday night.
Speaking with the media, Brogdon revealed just how impressed he has been with Boston’s defensive effort from top to bottom. “It’s very special,” shared the Virginia alumnus of his new team (via CLNS). “I haven’t played on a team like this where 1-5 everybody that’s on the floor takes pride in the defensive end.”
“It’s a championship characteristic, for sure,” continued the former Indiana Pacers guard, who has flourished in his two games with the Celtics so far, even on nights where his shot was off as it was vs. the Heat.
