'I have little to blame myself for' - Moise Kean speaks out on time at Everton

Moise Kean has opened up on his time at Everton and revealed how difficult it was playing behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.

The Italy international made a two-year loan move to Juventus, worth €7m (£6.2m), in the summer of 2021, and the deal included an obligation for the Italian club to make the move permanent if certain sporting objectives were met by the close of the 2022/23 season.

Those conditions have since been fulfilled and as reported by the ECHO earlier this month, the Serie A giants have formally rubber stamped the forward’s permanent return to Italy.

Kean’s move to Juve came after he spent a season on-loan at Paris Saint-Germain. The forward scored 17 times in 41 matches during his time in France.

The forward’s arrival at Goodison Park was considered to be something of a coup when he first joined, but he struggled both on and off the pitch during his time in England, scoring just four goals in 39 games.

“At Everton, there was [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin, who was breathing goals that year, and Richarlison. There was very little space,” he told Corriere dello Sport when reflecting on his time on Merseyside.

“The Premier League is the most beautiful league in the world, the most difficult. I was 19, I have little to blame myself for.”
