I had to let go of Vikram Bhatt's film: Jasmin Bhasin

A recent speculation claimed that Jasmin Bhasin is all set to make her Bollywood debut in a film produced by Vikram Bhatt and written by Mahesh Bhatt. However, it seems things did not turn out as expected for Jasmin and she has backed out of the project. Speaking to us exclusively, Jasmin said, “I am new to the industry and it’s just the beginning of my career. I have done only one film (Punjabi film, Honeymoon). I would like to explore all the genres before committing to one project.”

Commenting on the speculated film debut she says, “I was supposed to do a film produced by Vikram Bhatt production house and it was written by Mahesh sir, to be directed by Vikram sir’s associate. But the thing that did not work out was that we were supposed to shoot that film when I was doing Honeymoon and hence it got postponed a little. Eventually we reached a stage where I did not have the dates and the movie was supposed to go on the floor. I just felt it was a sign from the universe that because it kept getting pushed so much for some reason, I should take a step back.”

Jasmin also had another commitment that she had to finish before starting the Hindi film. However, Jasmin says she did not end her dialogue with the Bhatts on a bitter note. “I humbly apologised to Vikram sir, and he was, of course, very sweet about it. Mutually, we decided that if it is not working out, and since it’s already been two years, we should let go of it. Unfortunately, I’m not doing that film, but I’ll always be thankful to Vikram sir for the opportunity,” she says.

Jasmin is hopeful about her Bollywood debut happening soon and has been working hard for it. “I am giving all the auditions that I’m called for and have not left any effort from my end. I’m keeping my spirits and hopes high, as it’s my dream, and I believe in making my dreams come true,” she smiles.
