On Wednesday, thousands of Taylor Swift fans repeatedly flicked through their emails in the hopes of a notification to say they had been selected to receive a code which would allow them to be in with a chance to get a ticket when they go on sale.
In the afternoon Twitter became awash with posts from dedicated fans who revealed they were lucky enough to snag a code from the as well as those who were not lucky enough to get a code.
While a lot of people were, understandably, left very disappointed when they received an email to say they had not gotten the code, they could at least take solace in the fact that they are now on a waitlist for one of the Anti Hero songwriters three Dublin shows.

Naturally, people flocked to Twitter to both share their disappointment at not receiving a code or their joy at being able to have a chance at grabbing a ticket.
One person posted: “Didn’t get a ticket code for Taylor Swift in Dublin so I’ll be performing a tribute called ‘Tayto Swift’ where I eat crisps while lip-syncing to Anti-Hero.”
Another fan who didn’t get a code but might still be in with a chance wrote: “Did not get a code for Taylor Swift tickets in Dublin, but did just get informed that a friend of a friend got a code only to discover the general sale is her wedding day.”
Another person in a similar situation wrote, alongside a picture indicating he had a chance at going: “Me considering going to Dublin to see Taylor Swift three hours ago: *was not a thing that crossed my mind*
“Me learning Paramore is opening and my brother got an email to buy tickets, and the show is the weekend after school ends.”
However, getting the code was just the first step, and having that email does not guarantee a ticket and people in the running were aware of this, with one person posting: “See you all at the great war (Taylor Swift Dublin ticket sale).”
One more person shared this sentiment, posting: “Got selected for Taylor Swift tickets Dublin, now just for the war that is Ticketmaster.”
Another is using prayer to get some tickets: “Got an email saying I’ve got code for Taylor Swift in Dublin!! Praying to the big man upstairs and my Irish ancestors that we actually get tickets.”
