'I felt that' - Manchester United fans love what Wout Weghorst did after Carabao Cup final win

Manchester United fans have expressed their delight for striker Wout Weghorst after his emotional reaction to the Reds' Carabao Cup triumph over Newcastle United.

Erik ten Hag's side secured a 2-0 victory over the Magpies at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, with Casemiro and Marcus Rashford both getting on the scoresheet for the Reds. The England international was officially credited with the goal after it was initially marked down as a Sven Botman own goal.

With Anthony Martial once again ruled out through injury, Weghorst started up front alongside Antony and Rashford - with the Dutch striker grabbing the assist for United's second goal in the clash. While the attacker has still only scored once for Ten Hag's men, his showing in the final was one of his best in a red shirt so far.

After the game - while the Reds players were celebrating their triumph - Weghorst was spotted on his haunches, smiling at the United fans and taking in the incredible Wembley atmosphere. He later joined club captain Harry Maguire and other players as they gave their best rendition of 'United Road'.

Reds fans were quick to react to Weghorst's celebrations after the Carabao Cup win, with many of them expressing how pleased they were for the 30-year-old. Here's what some supporters had to say on social media...

Speaking after the final, Weghorst admitted he was hungry for more after winning the first trophy of his career.

Asked what he would have said if told two months ago he would now be winning a trophy with United, Weghorst said with a smile: "Deal!

"It’s great, just a great feeling. Of course for me not this long time that I’m here but I think for the club it’s a long time ago we win the silverware. It’s good to have it back at the place where it belongs, to me.

"It’s an amazing club, it’s a big club, you know, really happy we could win this one."
