Sliders are the perfect footwear option for lounging around the house, or even better, by the pool.
Last year, shoppers praised an £8 pair of shoes that they called 'the sliders of dreams', and I wanted to find out why. Sainsbury's is known for its vast TU Clothing section, which always features on-trend pieces such as comfy footwear, loungewear and bold statement pieces.
The Double Strap Chunky Pool Sliders seemed to attract a lot of attention in the comments section of an Instagram post, particularly because of the vibrant colour options. Priced at £8 for a pair (but currently down to £6 in the sale) the sliders come in colours such as pink, blue, orange and green - and I managed to get my hands on some.

Despite not having a holiday abroad booked for this year, I still wanted to give the sliders a go. I personally think they're a great choice of footwear for mooching around the house, or taking the dog for a quick walk.
The sandals
On the Sainsbury's website, the full product description reads: "Add a zing of colour to your holiday wardrobe with these super cool bright pink chunky pool sliders. With a double strap and buckle detail, comfortable contoured footbed, and moulded sole, they are perfect for showcasing your pedi in style. Available in other colours."
The sandals feature:
- Double straps
- Buckles
- Moulded sole
I decided to go for my usual size 6, but I could've easily sized down becaue they looked pretty big on my feet. At first, it took a little while for my feet to mould into the sandal, but once they did, it was like walking on a cloud.
For me, the best part about these sandals were the vibrant colours. It's safe to say I officially regret wearing boring old flip flops by the pool after trying on these bold and fun sandals.
I was a little worried the chunky buckle would rub the top of my feet, but the sandals were actually seriously soft to wear. I do think the design of these sliders are very much a love or hate situation - but I for one loved them.
I've always been a fan of chunky Birkenstocks, and these sandals reminded me of a brighter, cheaper version. A bold colour palette isn't for everyone, but for the price, these sliders could be great at injecting some fun into your summer wardrobe.
Although these sandals were a little hard at first, once they'd been worn in they were super comfortable. They were super easy to slip on and off, and I'm obsessed with the pink shade.
The verdict
I'm fully aware that these vibrant funky sliders might not be for everyone, but for £6, I think they're an absolute bargain. The sandals are usually priced at £8, but are currently in the sale for £6.
My only advice would be to definitely size down, because this pair looked pretty big on my feet. Apart from this, they were perfect.
I loved that they were wide and spacious for my feet, and although some of the colours are a tad on the bold side, I do think that they're still very versatile. Whether you want to clean the house, or you're on holiday by the pool, or you want to pop to the shops, these sliders are ideal.
I totally understand the hype around these sandals, and I haven't stopped wearing mine since I bought them. You can take a look at the sliders here.
