I DU-VET! Woman who married her quilt says her boyfriend is 'very proud'

A woman who married her duvet before finding a boyfriend has said that he isn't jealous at all - describing the relationship with her quilt as the "most meaningful" one she's ever had.

Pascale Sellick threw an "open wedding ceremony" on Valentine's Day in 2019 for her loyal companion who she fell in love with "at first sight", as the Daily Star reports.

The artist wedded her "single" duvet in Exeter, Devon, and invited members of the public, her family and her boyfriend to witness the moment.

Since her big day, she's never looked back and said she hoped to teach others that you don't need a partner to feel loved.

Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on ITV's This Morning, Pascale explained the relationship with the bedding.

"I had other duvets before but I'm always loyal to this one, it gives me warmth and comfort," she said while hugging the duvet.

"It's always there for me in times of sadness and happiness. It's definitely not sexual, it's just like a friendship."

Asked if her boyfriend, Jonny, will be sharing the duvet, Pascale said he understood the purpose of the wedding.

She answered: "Jonny, my boyfriend, understands I'm marrying the duvet for art and to come across a message, we have a really loving relationship.

"He's not jealous of my duvet, in fact, he's very proud of me.

"My duvet is a single at the moment, when I get married, it will get a double."

On her wedding day, guests showed up in dressing gowns and onesies as they watched her reading her vows, promising to "cuddle and snuggle".

She told BBC in an interview after the ceremony: "I got roped into this performance to have a bit of a celebration about self-love, self-care, self-worth around Valentine's.

"Because Valentine's could be a bit sad for people who are not in a relationship.

"We wanted to highlight 'look after yourself, have a bit of a duvet day and just be okay'.

"You don't need to be in a relationship to feel loved."
