Primark is known for its bargain makeup, with many shoppers praising the quality of products for such low prices.
Throughout the years its makeup section has expanded massively from foundation to own brand eyeshadow palettes.
I’ve been a big fan of Primark's lipstick for years, with a variety of different shades on offer that last for hours.

I thought it was time I tried a full face of Primark makeup to test it for myself, and my thoughts are mixed.
The products I tried were the perfect coverage foundation, matte eyeshadow in the shade burnished copper, brow fix gel, PS eyeliner, PS 3D lash effect and matte lipstick.
Perfect Coverage matte foundation
This was the one product that stood out to me the most out of all of them. Primark really does mean ‘full coverage’ with this matte foundation, it’s incredibly thick!
For those who are off on a night out or just want their makeup to stay put, I’d highly recommend this foundation. I’d go as far to say it feels and looks like a dupe for the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation, but instead of being £35 it’s £5.
After having the foundation on for a few hours with no powder, it showed no signs of shine. The colour match was also pretty spot on considering I took a guess, suggesting that it blends in really well to the skin.

Matte eyeshadow
Eek, I wasn’t overly impressed with the eyeshadow purely because once I opened the container it smashed and went all over my carpet! Nevertheless, I tried out the product anyway and it was indeed, a very matte eyeshadow.
In my opinion it was almost too matte and difficult to blend, but that could be because I had a lot on my brush after it smashed. Still, it was a gorgeous coppery shade and it was only 90p, so I can't grumble too much.

Brow fix gel
I wasn’t a big fan of this product at all, but this could be to do with the fact I purchased the complete wrong shade. The wand was very thick and claggy and I wasn’t used to the thickness of the gel, so it was quite difficult to shape my brows.
However, for those who prefer a really thick bold brow, the tattoo ink could definitely be something worth purchasing. Just make sure you get the right shade, because I definitely didn’t!

PS eyeliner
I couldn’t get my hands on any liquid eyeliner at my local store which was a shame because it’s my go to! So I decided to grab some pencil eyeliner to create a smokey waterline look. I did attempt to put it on my upper lid but struggled massively.
First impressions? The eyeliner is good, it created a really nice thick line on my waterline and it was definitely bold. Priced at £1 for two eyeliner pencils, this purchase was an absolute bargain.

PS 3D lash effect
I’m all for a bargain mascara, and at £2.50 this product was surprisingly good!
It wasn't as clumpy as some cheaper mascaras can be, and had a nice thick wand that brushed my lashes perfectly. I wouldn’t say this is the best mascara I’ve used, but it’s definitely good for the price.

Matte lipstick
I’ve always really liked the Primark lipstick, and seem to invest in the same shade, which I couldn’t find the name of. Let’s just call it a ‘brown beige’ shade, which is incredibly matte and lasts for a good few hours.
The main thing I like about this lipstick is the fact it’s not drying, despite being very matte it still makes your lips feel moisturised.

The verdict
As a whole, I was relatively impressed with the Primark products, purely because of the amazing prices! I wasn’t expecting miracles, but the foundation was pretty amazing for £5, and the lipstick is always a winner.
If you’re looking for a cheaper but relatively decent quality alternative to makeup (which is also cruelty free) I’d definitely recommend Primark makeup.
