I did a full face of Aldi makeup and was blown away by two items

Aldi’s own skincare range Lacura has been impressing shoppers for some time with its good value and quality.

Many of you will be aware of the Aldi dupes of expensive brands that are available to purchase in store, from Clinique to Benefit.

The supermarket struck out into skincare with its Lacura collection, and have now entered the world of beauty.

Since I’m big into makeup, I decided I’d give the Aldi makeup a whirl to see if it’s really worth the hype.

I purchased their Lacura Liquid Eyeliner , the Lacura Light BB Cream and the Revival Eyeshadow Palette and this was my verdict.

The BB Cream

I’m always a little dubious when it comes to BB Cream, purely because I prefer a much heavier coverage even day to day.

Nevertheless, this was the only form of foundation I could get my hands on in store, so I thought I’d give it a try.

The product description states that the BB cream will even skin tone, blur lines and imperfections and hydrate skin.

First impressions? Once you get over the standard ‘cosmetic’ scent, it actually feels pretty nice on the face.

It gave my skin a nice glow, and didn’t feel too heavy or sticky on the skin like some BB creams or foundations can.

My only issue with this product is the fact that it was nowhere near enough coverage for me, and I had to go in with some concealer to cover my blemishes.

But, that’s no fault of the BB Cream itself, because it's supposed to give a nice light base, so overall, I was pleasantly surprised.

Shade wise, I went for light, which was pretty spot on for my skin tone, and it didn’t appear orange which is always a bonus.

The Lacura Liquid Eyeliner

I was shocked at how good this eyeliner was for the price (Emily Sleight/ Liverpool ECHO)

I’ll be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for the liquid eyeliner, purely because I wear it everyday and swear by the Maybelline Master Ink liquid eyeliner.

The packaging for this was okay, it wasn’t anything special, but for the price I wouldn’t expect it to be.

It was in the form of a pen, and once I began drawing my wing I was actually really shocked at how good the product was.

The pen created a strong eyeliner line that didn’t smudge, and looked really bold!

It glided on perfectly and gave a nice matte finish which really impressed me.

The liquid eyeliner impressed me that much, that I’ve been using it ever since, and will continue to.

The Revival Eyeshadow Palette

I kid you not, this eyeshadow palette was actually better than some £40 Naked palettes I’ve got, and it was £5.99.

The packaging was really pretty, with a pale pink velvet covering, Aldi have done really well with this product.

But was the eyeshadow pigmented enough? The answer to that is absolutely.

I applied some to my lid and was shocked at how strong the colour was just with a simple stroke.

What’s even better is the eyeliner glided on perfectly after applying the eyeshadow, making the getting ready process very easy.

Perfect for day or night, the palette really does contain ‘highly pigmented shades’ like the product description says.

The palette contained quite warm and pinky tones, making it a perfect purchase for the spring.
