'I'd get rid of it' - Leeds United star Adam Forshaw delivers brutally honest VAR assessment

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has said that the Video Assistant Referee technology or 'VAR' is "embarrassing" and "most" players think it should be scrapped in an interview with pundit Danny Murphy.

The Whites player missed this weekend's game against Aston Villa with an ankle injury and Forshaw was brutally honest about VAR's integration into the Premier League.

The comments come after Leeds weren't given a penalty against Brentford and officials missed a touch by Bees striker Ivan Toney that would've ruled out Bryan Mbuemo's goal - with the team feeling as though Stockley Park and the officials missed what was an obvious mistake by referee Robert Jones.

Speaking to Murphy who was writing for the Daily Mail, Forshaw opened up about his opinion on VAR and its uses, saying that a lot of the players would get rid of the new system.

"I'd get rid of VAR. Most of the lads would. It gets you more infuriated because there's something there that is meant to be black and white for you and it's not.

"So you would rather still go off opinion. You are still getting decisions wrong when there is the technology. It's embarrassing."
