'I'd clear the floor with him': Glasgow man challenges Donald Trump to fist fight

SOME people were so happy about Donald Trump becoming US president for the second time that they couldn't help but throw a Nazi salute.

Others are so enraged by the prospect that they feel like challenging the newly sworn-in president to a fist fight.

That’s just what happened when the Jouker took to the streets of Glasgow to find out how the locals in Scotland’s largest city were feeling about Trump’s second term.

The US president’s face was on just about every newspaper in the world on Tuesday morning after the inauguration ceremony on January 20.

And to some, it’s a face that inspires violence.

“Oh terrible, a disgusting man,” one Glasgow local told the Jouker. “See him, he's just the same age as me, so, and I would be able to clear the floor with him, you know, nae problem at all.”

Others had a similar attitude to the idea of four more years of Trump in the news.

“I think he's an arsehole,” one said. “I think he's a bigot, a ******, a racist, and he's going to ruin the country.”

The Jouker had to bleep out that one word on legal advice.

For some Glaswegians however, that wasn’t enough to stain his reputation.

“I think he’s brilliant, brilliant,” one person said – pointing to the fact that he will “upset everything” as a key positive.

Others took a more balanced view – though perhaps that isn’t best advised.

“I think some of his policies are OK, others I would be a bit scared of, especially a lot to do with females,” one woman said.

The Jouker would suggest that policies that “scare” you are not evenly weighted against ones you think are “OK”.

In the four years to come, let’s hope we see more of the latter than the former. Somehow, we doubt it.
