'I’d be very careful' - Sadio Mane sent Liverpool warning amid Bayern Munich talks

Sadio Mane has been warned that he risks ‘losing his Liverpool legacy’ as speculation over his future continues.

Mane continues to be the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. Liverpool have already rejected two bids for the Senegalese international and are braced for another offer.

The Reds are keen to hold out for a fee close to £42.75m for the forward, who has one year left on his contract., and who has provided several cryptic hints over his future, initially before the Champions League final last month and more recently while on international duty with Senegal.

And Gabriel Agbonlahor has warned Mane about making comments that could put him in the bad books with Liverpool fans. The former Aston Villa striker went on to say that he thinks the 29-year-old should be more “respectful” to the Reds.

“I’d be very careful if I was Mane to not lose his Liverpool legacy,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider . “For me, he’s a Liverpool legend and he doesn’t want to say the wrong thing and lose the respect of the Liverpool fans.

“He says he wants to leave and he can still be respectful to Liverpool. hey bought you for you a big amount of money from Southampton and given you a platform to prove you’re a top, top player. I don’t think there’s any need to say the things that he’s said.

“Players need to understand now that if there’s a camera in front of you or a microphone you can’t be making jokes about your club. It’s a sensitive time for Liverpool fans.

“He just needs to say, ‘you know what, I want to leave, Liverpool can’t meet my contract demands, I want to go somewhere else and I’ll love Liverpool forever’. There are ways to go out.”
