Liverpool have been backed by a former Chelsea player to replace Sadio Mane this summer.
The future of the Reds forward continues to be the subject of intense speculation, with the club bracing themselves for his exit. Liverpool have already rejected a £25million bid from Bayern Munich for Mane’s services, but it’s possible that the German club will return with another offer.
As a result of Mane’s potential exit, a host of possible players have been linked as replacements. Liverpool will not sanction a move for Mane to leave Anfield without bringing in a suitable player to fill his shoes.

Former Chelsea star Tony Cascarino has backed Liverpool not only to sign a replacement for Mane, but to also break their transfer record. The £75m paid to Southampton for Virgil van Dijk in 2018 remains the highest fee for an incoming player at Liverpool.
“I trust the recruitment team at Liverpool,” Cascarino told Talksport.
“This time last summer I remember talking about Gini Wijnaldum, he was a big player - not as big as Mane, one of Liverpool’s best.
“It does happen, big clubs do lose players. It's what you do to replace them and I think Liverpool have done that already with Jota and Diaz.
“I’d be amazed if Liverpool didn't break their transfer record this summer.”
