When you're catching a flight, the last thing you want is to find you're seated near a noisy passenger. But what would you do if you found yourself in this nightmare situation? Would you speak up or fume in silence?
One passenger who'd had another of a neighbour's incessant noise decided to make their feelings known at the end of a flight.
Too late to save themselves from the disturbance, the passenger said they were looking out for another person on the plane when they decided to voice their frustration.
Setting the scene in a post to Reddit, the passenger explained: "The lady 2 seats behind me on the flight was talked extremely loud the entire flight. I had earplugs in and it was piercing my ears.
"After the flight landed the lady across the aisle from me looked terrified and said they've on her next flight."
Unfortunately, an unpleasant exchange followed. "I got up and walked back and said, 'you guys are flying to Florida next right? You may want to consider being a little more quiet on your next flight. I had earplugs in and could hear you screaming the entire time.' I turn back around and her boyfriend calls me an a**hole," the passenger claimed.
They continued: "So I turned back and asked what he said. He told me I was an a**hole. Then the girl chimes in and said, 'we weren't even talking loud.' I show them the earplugs in my hand and said, 'I had earplugs in my ears 2 seats ahead of you, and I heard all about Franks wedding, your nail appointment, feeding your dogs, your cellphone bill, the tv shows your mom watches."
Expressing their interest in hearing an outsider's perspective, the passenger asked "Am I the a**hole?" and in response, several people answered, no.
One person wrote: "If you could hear them from two seats back even without earplugs they're definitely talking way too loud." A second added: "Especially with the background noise of the engines and stuff on the plane."
Another agreed: "Good that you told them!" Someone else added: "I got a headache just reading the post. I hate loud talking. That had to be miserable."
