Roberto Firmino has described his Liverpool team-mate Fabio Carvalho as a "star" following his arrival from Fulham early in the summer transfer window.
Carvalho has made an instant impact at Anfield with his first goal coming in the 9-0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield before he sent the home crowd wild with a 98th minute winner over Newcastle United.
Liverpool tried to sign the 20-year-old in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through at the final hurdle. A £5 million fee was agreed and the young talent moved north in June.

Firmino spoke about Carvalho to Noticias Ao Minuto (h/t Sport Witness ): "He’s a great player. I confess that I had watched some of his games before he came to Liverpool, so I was already impressed by the way he played.
“He’s a star, he’s a great player and now he’s also a very close friend. We are happy to have him here at Liverpool and I know he will help us a lot, with assists, goals and also his character on the pitch.”
Carvalho was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Season last year as he played a key role in Fulham winning the Championship title.
