'I cleared Asda's shelves after seeing reduced washing products – I'm sorted for years'

A bargain hunter was positively tickled pink after clocking a number of discounted laundry products at her local Asda and decided to fill her boots. The thrifty shopper merrily "cleared the shelves" of cut-price washing tablets, pods, and detergent, and has since revealed she's now "sorted for the next few years".

Showing off her bounty on popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, the pleased woman remarked that she's now got enough liquid for more than 200 washes.

Not everybody shared her joy, however, and some felt she really should have left some bits on the shelves for others to pick up.

Sharing pics of her purse-friendly purchases, the woman wrote: "I see your posts about the sales, I check the big Asda no sale. I check the little local Asda and they didn't say the price so when I asked he checked and told me £1.55 a box £2 a bottle [sic].

"Yes, I cleared the shelves because I thought I can afford them now but won't be able to when the price changes so why not. Lady [saw] me getting them so she took some too."

She continued: "Now [I] have 650 pods and enough liquid for over 200 washes! That's me sorted for the next few years."

Some fellow group members weren't exactly congratulating her, however, with one person commenting: "Personally, I think they should be limited so more people get a bargain."

Another huffed: "Quite selfish to take that many. There are other people who would like to save money like you. It isn't about jealousy it’s about decency, there's a difference between taking some to save money and being selfish.

"By the time you get to use them, they won't be worth using. You could have bought half of what you did and still had enough to last you and save money."

Hitting back at her critics, the woman blasted them as "jealous", advising them to stop being so "bitter" and to instead just head over to their local Asda for some bargains of their own.
