For the most part, being neighbourly doesn't usually venture further from the odd exchange as you cross paths on the driveway. But one woman has found herself far more acquainted, as she's spotted her neighbour having an affair with another woman. Taking to popular forum Mumsnet, the woman admitted she's torn whether to reach out to the man's wife and let her know of her partner's infidelity. However, online users have warned the woman to 'mind [her] own business'.
Captioning the post, the woman wrote: "If you saw a neighbour having an affair? I have found out that one of our neighbours appears to be having an affair. He is married with a child.
"We don't really know one another although I know his and his wife's names. I don't know the woman I saw him with.
"I don't know whether to post an anonymous note to his wife or not. I also don't know if my own experience is affecting my judgement.
"Years ago, one of my neighbours tried telling me my own husband was having an affair.
"She didn't do it directly and I didn't cotton on so it was only later when I found out about his affair that I realised what she had been trying to tell me. I felt grateful she had tried to intervene."
Below the original post, the woman clarified that she saw the man 'embracing and kissing' a woman that was not his wife.
Seeking advice, the woman asked for advice on how she should proceed with the heartbreaking situation.
However, Mumsnet users who fled to the comment section to share their advice were strongly convinced that the woman should 'mind [her] own business' and not tell the husband's wife.
One person advised: "Personally I'd stay out of it. It's nothing to do with you."
"I'd mind my own business," a second added.
A third warned: "Keep your beak out."
A different user wrote: "Another vote for keep out of it. None of your business."
"I embrace and kiss my brother, my male best friend and female friends. We are not having an affair," a fifth said.
The woman who shared the original post replied: "What I saw was not an embrace and a kiss between siblings or friends."
