A savvy vlogger who regularly travels has shared how he went from Manchester Airport to Abu Dhabi for less than £100. Taking to TikTok content creator Rob Adcock shared how he split his journey up in order to make it much cheaper.
Rob paid £69 for the one-way ticket. Firstly he took a £21 Ryaniar carrier from Manchester to Rome.
While he was in the Italian city he did a bit of sightseeing and watched a European football match. Then, from Rome he jumped on an Wizz Air flight to the capital of the United Arab Emirates - setting him back £48.
Rob has shared his travel hack with his 38,600 TikTok followers. In the clip, Rob mentions that the flight has little legroom and there's no entertainment but admits "you get what you pay for."
His video has more than 160,000 views. One viewer says: "Mine was £41 from Sophia to Abu Dhabi. Look at Madives they fly from Abu Dhabi from £80 Maldives on a budget," the Manchester Evening News reports.
Another added: "Flew with the first Wizz flight from Luton to Tallinn and no cake...I want a refund. I know the flight was £16.99 but I want my refund."
"How did you find flights to Rome for £21??? The only ones I can see are over £100," another user added.
The Manchester Evening News decided to see if they could get from Manchester to Abu Dhabi for the price of a PS5 game. The cheapest flight they found from Manchester to Rome was a £38.99 one-way ticket to the Fiumicino airport from EasyJet taking off next month.
They then found a Wizz Air flight from the same airport later that morning, which according to Skyscanner was doable timewise. While recreating Rob's journey, the cheapest ticket they found cost £105.
While definitely not as cheap as Rob's tickets, it still worked out a whopping £343 less than the £448 you'd have to pay for a direct flight to Abu Dhabi from Manchester at that time.
