When Do Black Friday Rug Deals Drop?
This year, Black Friday falls on November 29th, but rug sales have already started, as they do every year, well before Thanksgiving.
"Now is the prime time to snag great rug deals without the crowds or panic," advises Lindsey Davis, Ecommerce Director at Livingetc. "Every retailer follows a different sales timeline, but you tend to start to see fall sales merging with Black Friday sales more and more. This means there is plenty of rug stock on sale right now. However, I'd expect more collections to go into retailers' rug sales within the next two weeks."
When Are the Best Times to Shop for Rug Deals?
The best time to buy a rug in a sale is at the end of a season, so if you missed a sale, don’t worry — rug deals pop up when you least expect them. Winter styles, like heavy textures and darker color palettes, often go on sale in spring and summer, while light jutes and bright colors tend to see markdowns in the cooler months. Technically, we’re always in an "off-season" for something, so always be on the lookout for those sneaky discounts.
"However, there are particularly hefty discounts on rugs in fall, leading up to and across Black Friday," says Lucy Searle, Content Director at Livingetc. "I've been working across Black Friday home decor sales for seven years now, and I can safely say that I would tend to shop rug sales just before Black Friday weekend. That's when the stock is high and the prices are low."
Are Black Friday Rug Deals Better Than After Christmas Rug Sales?
"You are going to get good deals in both the Black Friday and after-Christmas rug sales," says Lindsey Davis. "But there is a 'but'. And that is: but if you have your eye on a particular rug on sale over Black Friday, be prepared for it to be either off-sale or more likely out of stock by the after-Christmas sales.
"In other words, if you're not fussy about the rug you're buying, maybe it's a plain, always on sale jute, wait until after Christmas. If it's a limited edition, an on-trend pattern or shape, or it's a particular color that you really want to match a scheme, you should shop it around Black Friday. Waiting until after Christmas is unlikely to promise you much more of a discount, and may disappoint with a lack of stock."
