The Steven Gerrard Academy and The Anfield Wrap have announced an exciting new partnership beginning September 2023.
The organisations have teamed up to create a football media programme that will help school leavers build a career towards journalism, commentating, punditry, and content creation.
Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard said about the programme: “I am extremely proud of the positive impact the academy has had on the lives of young people from the City of Liverpool and beyond in the past 10 years.”

Students will work towards a BTEC Level 3 extended diploma in creative media practice in the two year course and will enjoy weekly access to Steven Gerrard Academy’s training and fixtures.
There’s even an opportunity for a select few to capture content during tours of Alicante, Spain and the Dallas Cup, USA.
Neil Atkinson, presenter and CEO of The Anfield Wrap said: “We want to give young people the opportunity to learn skills in a vast and continually changing media marketplace.
“We are looking for students that are open minded, The Anfield Wrap works with so many different facets of football media and we are always looking for ways in which we can progress both ourselves and the young people that work with us on this course.
“In the future there may be opportunities for students to continue to work for us once the course has finished.”
A team of experienced media professionals will guide learners through the course and will include guest speakers from the industry. Confirmed supporters of the programme are legendary commentator Martin Tyler and presenter Becky Davis, to name a couple.
Spaces are limited to just 16 for the September 2023 intake and school leavers aged 16+ are invited to attend an open evening at The Anfield Wrap on Tuesday 2nd May.
