Two major road projects will affect thousands of motorists traveling in and through Lexington. Rehabilitation work on I-75 started Monday and will cover the nearly 10 miles between Man O’ War Boulevard and the Clays Ferry Bridge. Natasha Lacy, a spokeswoman for the state Transportation Cabinet, said work began in the southbound lanes and will move north.
“Most of the work will be done at night. And so that will impact travelers last, it'll be finished in the morning. And this is of course, ongoing through the beginning of October.”
The Harrodsburg Road resurfacing project between the Jessamine County line and Cave Hill Lane started Tuesday and is also taking place at night, with an anticipated completion date of October 15th. Lacy said the work is needed.
“Motorists will be able to pass through the work zone, they'll just need to, you know, plan ahead for their commute and travel and allow extra time and of course, be careful and watch for work zone areas.”
The Harrodsburg Road rehab is expected to be finished in mid-October.
