Hyundai Is Giving 2025 Ioniq 5 Buyers Free Level 2 Chargers

  • Buyers of the 2025 Ioniq 5 can get either a free Level 2 home charger, or $400 worth of charging  credit at Chargepoint public chargers. ($450 for Ioniq 5 N)
  • The offer must be redeemed within 60 days of purchasing or leasing a new 2025 Ioniq 5.
  • The offer does not include installation.

The refreshed 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is already en route to dealerships. This updated version of Hyundai’s best-selling EV brings a few upgrades that consumers are clamoring for, like a rear wiper and the integration of the same charging port once only found on Tesla models with the new North American Charging Standard (NACS)-style plug.

But Hyundai wants to sweeten the deal here, so it announced that 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 buyers are eligible for either $400 of charging credits from Chargepoint, or a free Chargepoint Home Flex Level 2 home charger. The Ioniq 5 N gets an extra $50 in charging credit, bringing the total to $450.

This is all contingent on buyers signing up for the Hyundai Home Marketplace, Hyundai’s in-house solution to get its EV owners set up with home charging and energy storage solutions. Not only do they sell home chargers, energy storage and solar panels, but they’ll help set up the customer with the local installation, too. This service will match rebates and incentives, to ensure that they’re getting the best deal.

The complimentary charger with this deal doesn’t include installation, but Hyundai can quote the buyer for an installation via the Hyundai Home Marketplace. If you’re not a homeowner or not interested in the Level 2 charging cable install, you can take $400 worth of charging credits at ChargePoint chargers instead. Keep in mind that this does replace the two years of free DC fast charging at Electrify America found on the 2024 model year cars.

Hyundai’s senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy, Olabisi Boyle, understands that home charging makes EV ownership a lot easier. “By offering Hyundai Home Marketplace assistance and a complimentary charger, we are taking the stress and guesswork out of going electric,” Boyle said.

True, the free DC fast charging of the pre-refresh car was a super sweet deal, but the switch to NACS will come with supercharger access without a pesky adapter. The offer for a free charger or credit must be redeemed by new 2025 Ioniq 5 buyers within 60 days of the vehicle’s purchase.

If you choose to take the free home charger, it must be installed within 120 days of accepting the offer. This offer is available for both leased and purchased vehicles. So if you want an Ioniq 5 and need to get a Level 2 charger anyway, Hyundai just made it easier and cheaper.
