Fans of Huw Edwards have praised the Welsh newsreader for being a "consummate professional" after he posted an image onto his Instagram page from Westminster Abbey amid his presenting duties for the King's Coronation. The 61-year-old played a vital role during the first day's events as he was among the presenters covering the mass-scale celebration including the commentary for the lead-up to the Westminster Abbey service, the ceremony itself, and the King's balcony appearance.
Huw posted a selfie of him with BBC assistant producer Ella Wood from their "secret hideout" in the Abbey. He wrote alongside the sweet snap: "Without the amazing @ella__wood I would have been in the dark... in our secret hideout high in the Abbey. Thanks for all your wonderful comments. #diolch #coronation @bbcs_events @bbc @westminsterabbeylondon"

Fans soon flooded the Brigend-born journalist's comments section with many writing "Da Iawn" for his efforts.
Richard Chambers wrote: "Smashing job as ever" while user @julia_p_60 commented: "The consummate professional Huw..as always. Thank you."
Suit shop Steven Hitchcock Bespoke added: "Great job as always" alongside @timrees287 and @josokill who penned: "Bravo Huw… brilliantly done as ever" and: "Fabulous picture. Coverage was excellent."
He is just one of several presenters commentating on this historic occasion. Others include Sophie Raworth, Clare Balding, Anita Rani, JJ Chalmers, and former Desert Island Discs presenter Kirsty Young, who also covered the late Queen's state funeral alongside Huw, which saw the Welshman praised for his admirable and stoic approach and coverage of the sad event.
Alongside Saturday's events, which she will comment on from a studio at Buckingham Palace Kirsty is set to anchor Sunday's live broadcast of the Coronation Concert, which will take place in the grounds of Windsor Castle and will include the spectacular Lighting up the Nation commemoration.
Huw's Instagram post comes just two days after he shared an image that showed him hard at work preparing for the weekend ahead. Alongside the snap he wrote: "No pressure. In the footsteps of giants. Richard Dimbleby looking on."
